Nemzetközi 7-es rögbi torna Bécsben (Október 18-19)

A Nagykovácsi Dragons u16-os és u18-as korosztálya az osztrák főrvárosban járt egy két napos nemzetközi rögbi tornán. A bécsi nemzetközi iskola (Vienna International School) szervezte tornán öt csapat vett rész: a Dragons mellett a VIS, a Donau Wien, a francia fiatalokból álló Stade Vienna és Pozsonyból a Slovan United.

Friday:
The Nagykovácsi Dragons youth team headed to Vienna this weekend for their first rugby tour, eager to play in the invitational tournament hosted by Vienna International School (VIS). With a mix of last year’s U18s and many younger players, the team put up a strong fight today. Despite facing tough opposition, they managed one win and two narrow losses. While it wasn’t perfect, no tournament was won on the first day.
The Dragons are ready to go again tomorrow with everything still to play for. After a tough day, burgers were a great way to refuel for the challenges ahead!
Saturday:
After Friday night’s reflection, the Dragons breathed fire on Saturday. The intense competition on day one had sharpened their focus, and they started strong. In a hard-fought match, they managed to edge out a well-respected Stade team with a gritty win. With confidence high, the Dragons marched on to the semi-finals, ready to face Donau Vienna.
The semi-final was a tense affair. Donau struck twice in the first half, but the Dragons hit back early in the second, setting up a nail-biting finish. Despite a dominant performance, they couldn’t break through Donau’s defense, falling short in a close contest.
In the 3rd place match, the Dragons bounced back with a comfortable win over a fast-improving VIS team. Every squad member contributed, showcasing their depth and teamwork. The Dragons youth team came of age on this tour, excelling on the road.
Great team, great tour congratulations to the boys!
